Initial Idea:
A hand-carriable lantern containing a star.
The Star Lantern is a hero asset for an imagined animation project.
It contains the McGuffin of the story, the star chart necessary to find a hidden treasure of old.
Early in the story, the main character stumbles upon the chart by accident. While hiding it in one of his tinker projects, it reveals its dual purpose. The star crystal not only functions as a lamp but also containing a map. This kick starts the project’s adventure, as they and other parties race toward the grand price.
Visually, the world blends Art Deco and Art Nouveau influences, interpreted through a stylized and simplified lens. The asset follows this language — playful and elegant yet grounded and logically functional within its world.
